Welcome to the Anser Station!
Far from Earth, in Federation held territory on the far end of Klingon and Romulan territory, floats the Quadra Sigma System. Its third planet was colonized in the early 2360s, but the mining colony was removed when heretofore-unknown gases seeped from the ground, threatening the lives of the colonists.
In the intervening years, planetary survey ships scrutinized intensely Quadra Sigma III. The source of the gas was capped and people could resume living there.
On the Eastern continent, the mining operation was re-established in 2379. Over the following ten years, the Western continent became the site of homesteads, farms, shops, and various other local industries, in a community they named New Shanghai.
In January 2389, Starfleet was invited to establish a base on Quadra Sigma III. On the Western continent, several hundred kilometers from the growing town, a sizeable ground facility was built.
The year is 2389.
The place is Anser Station.
